The holiday season is a great time to visit Silicon Valley. Downtown San José lights up for one of the Bay Area’s best-loved free traditions, and the San Francisco 49ers have four home games at Levi’s Stadium between early November and the first weekend of January.
Christmas in the Park: November 27, 2026 to January 1, 2027
Christmas in the Park opens the day after Thanksgiving at Plaza de César Chávez in downtown San José and runs every day through January 1, 2027, from noon to 10 p.m., including Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. It is free.
The tradition dates back to a single nativity display in the 1950s and has been in downtown San José since the early 1980s. Expect hundreds of decorated trees, animated displays, live entertainment, and free photos with Santa (bring your own camera) from opening weekend through Christmas Eve. Leashed dogs are allowed, though weekend nights get very busy. See christmasinthepark.com for special nights and updates.
Make an evening of it with dinner downtown, or head to Santana Row for more holiday shopping.
49ers home games at Levi’s Stadium
From the official 49ers schedule, the remaining 2026 regular-season home games at Levi’s Stadium after October are:
- Sunday, November 8: vs. Las Vegas Raiders, 1:05 p.m.
- Sunday, November 29: vs. Seattle Seahawks, 1:25 p.m. (Thanksgiving weekend, and opening weekend of Christmas in the Park)
- Sunday, December 13: vs. Los Angeles Rams, 1:25 p.m.
- Sunday, January 3: vs. Philadelphia Eagles, 5:20 p.m.

Where to stay
- Granada Hotel is on El Camino Real in Santa Clara, minutes from Levi’s Stadium, with free parking.
- Carlyle Hotel is an intimate 38-room boutique hotel in Campbell, close to Santana Row and downtown Campbell, and an easy drive to downtown San José.
- Gilroy Inn is a smoke-free hotel just off Highway 101 in Gilroy, next to the Gilroy Premium Outlets, with free parking. It is farther south, but handy if you are combining a game or Christmas in the Park with holiday shopping or Gilroy’s own holiday events.
