Dennis the Menace Park is a city playground on the shore of Lake El Estero, created with the involvement of cartoonist Hank Ketcham, who lived in the area. It is known for its climbing structures, slides, and a retired steam locomotive.
The lake loop next to it is an easy walk, and the park is close to downtown Monterey and the Fremont Street hotels.
